just a random suggestion havent really thought it out but what about changing the 3F forward positions to 3 bench? that way weak teams arent forced to have crappy 4th liners on their teams, and good teams can have good bench players that they can continuously swap out. We finally moving forward. I like that suggestion and it would make some players expendable and maybe to get. Would you be forced to carry a full bench? If yes this wouldn´t have a diffrent result.

i too ran into the problem of keeping a full line up last year as my lineup was riddled with injuries and my farm team players were not NHL eligible. I think as long as you are dressing all the healthy players you can you shouldn't be penalized if you are unable to fill a couple spots on a temporary basis because of injury. Even the real NHL teams sometimes cant dress a full roster because of a last minute injury and not enough time to call someone up.
as for cap issues, I believe the real NHL cap allows teams to go below the floor when players are injured. as long as they would meet the floor limit as if the players were healthy.

hey guys i could be wrong but there may be some infractions. from what i understand, if a player is not in the nhl he has to be in the minors. assuming all your players are healthy, every team needs to be able to dress a full nhl roster. devils faulk needs to be put in minors you need another active nhl dman responding to the OP, Justin Falk - MIN is on Minnesota's roster. www.forecaster.ca/thestar/hockey/player.cgi?6290wild.nhl.com/club/roster.htmI don't own Justin Faulk - CAR, though I wish I did.

I think there needs to be an adjustment to the rules. This is a 30 team league with full rosters. It's damn near impossible for all 30 teams to have a lineup full of NHLers. I think there should be a roster minimum that is different than the 18. A team like Chicago, who has a bunch of young players, should not be forced to sign garbage players who are healthy scratches every night just to meet a roster rule. To prevent tanking, make the minimum 15 players (or another number not 18 or 17). If I had to pick up an extra NHLer, and picked Harry Zolnercyk of the Flyers cuz he played a couple nights ago, well now he's in the minors. So, now I have to pick up someone else who might get sent to the minors? It's a potentially never ending cycle of picking up unwanted players and dropping them and eating salary. And none of this benefits my squad. Finally, I think there needs to be some subjectivity on the Commish's behalf. Yes, there should be rules to keep things as fair as possible, but there are also extenuating circumstances. The only way Chicago meets some of the rules requirements is to blow up his team of young talent, and that leaves them in the basement forever and unattractive to him and other potential GM's. My lengthy two cents. this is exactly right. i HAD three rws, until fantrax decided they were lw or centers. eventually, hopefully soon, i'll get some multiple positions added to a couple forwards ( hodgson getting rw added ) so that i can ice three rws. in the meantime, i will continue to try and ice the best possible team, as i have done since i entered this league at inception. if that isn't good enough, it that is isn't enough to avoid being listed as a 'tanker' count me out as well.

in the meantime, feel free to take me out of your little witch hunt. my team complies i thought you resigned? i dont understand why you got so offended that i said you needed to have at least 6 nhl dmen on your squad. are you really against trading that much? are you not going to make a single deal all year? if falk plays the next game then i'll cross your team off.

Falk is muscle, don't see him getting any icetime soon but he's on the NHL teams roster. that complies.

I'm still about 3 hours from where I'm staying here on the west coast. Won't really be settled until Monday.
Would like to trouble shoot solution ideas when I get back.

not sure what the issue is with Redden, he is on my bench not in an active slot....... there isnt a clear cut rule whether having guys who are obviously not in the nhl allowed to count as your active salary. if that is the case then you can load your team with guys like redden, nylander etc which would be circumventing the cap. the commish needs to decide if it's okay or not.
