Last night, Ottawa and I completed a trade. He accepted it on Fantrax around 6:45pm EST and I had about 5 players playing at 7pm. The trade, which involved 0 players playing last night, gave my squad an illegal roster because I only had 5 D-men (Franson leaving). I did not check my lineup in the 15 minute period between trade and game-time, and according to Fantrax I missed out on a decent night by my skaters.
My issue is: why do a team's stats not count if you have an illegal roster of too few players? I think the answer is to force everyone to field a full lineup to avoid tanking. However, We are rewarding tankers with this rule! we're saying, "hey tankers, play 5 d-men and get a whole night of stats thrown in the trash!"
I just feel that the illegal rosters is something that we need to police. I shouldn't miss out on stats from my guys because I didn't field a 6th defenceman who wasn't even playing that night.

the commish can retroactively change your lineup so you dont have an illegal one. you have 6 nhl dmen (Even after the trade) so this isnt a problem. i had a similar situation when i traded for backstrom...once i accepted the trade i literally had the guys i traded away and the guys i acquired all on my current day roster haha. so yea, just pm the commish and im sure he'll fix it. kinda stupid but thats fantrax!

I would hope that Admins/The Commish is on top of making sure GMs aren't fielding illegal rosters. and if they are, those GM's have some 'splaining to do and should be kicked out of the league.
