Hi all!
Just wanted to announce the opening of free agency.
Free Agency will follow the same rules as prior year. Free Agency officially opens at 1 PM ET on Saturday August 13th. Any post prior to 1 PM is invalid.
Signings are made on a first come basis and you are allowed a maximum of 1 successful signing per day and a maximum of 2 per week/8 per month. A new day starts at midnight, therefore should you sign someone successfully on the 13th, you may submit you second signing at or after 12:00 AM EST on the 14th. Weeks also run from Sunday through Saturday.
A successful signing occurs when you are the first to sign an eligible player on Pro-Boards during a signing period and you are within the signing requirement perimeters. Also waiver claims will not be processed until the season starts. Waiver claims will be processed by the Jets GM and are initially based on last year's final standings for the first three weeks of the season.
You are also reminded that the farm size will revert back to 25 on the Sunday prior to season start. To be eligible for the farm, a skater may not exceed 110 career NHL games played and a net-minder may not exceed 55 career NHL games played. The only exceptions to this under current rules are if they are signed to other leagues or are actually in the AHL
Please make all efforts to be below the cap, above the floor and within roster requirements before the season starts!
Thanks all! Let me know if you have any questions

Hey all,
Just noticed something while I was scrolling through my watch list of FA's thinking of who I might sign after midnight with my 2nd pick for the current week and notice that a player had been signed to a vacant team.
I think this a great idea actually so as to preserve some form of competitive balance for the unowned teams as the longer they go this way less choices become available if and when a GM is found, also contributing to the difficulty of finding someone willing to take over a talent challenged team.
My question I guess is this; is this something that will be done for all vacant teams(this goes back to the other thread where I mentioned admins/mods overseeing the vacant teams and setting lineups and making "obvious" moves until the teams are filled)
I don't think that it should only be restricted to certain teams and should be done for all of them or none of them.
Just my 2 cents.

Just my 2 cents. when was this done? what team, which player? Yesterday. Yegor Korshkov. You know I didn't check but I guess it's maybe a drafted player that was missed? Still not a horrible idea, a little difficult to determine how to implement I guess. I remember back in the Office Pools days of ZFHL I'm sure it was and I took over a moribund bunch and fzusher had been adding the odd(and some of them were odd as I remember) to the team periodically while there was no GM so the team at least had some "prospects".
