As a team that has always been in the top third of the standings, and therefore better off with min/max rules in effect, I don't think that this rule is a net-positive for the league. A lot of the rebuilding/retooling teams simply won't be able to make the minimum GP requirements; this will be especially true for teams who only have NHL back-ups in a week where they don't get rolled out by their NHL teams. While fully recognizing the argument for minimum GP (notably the minimization of statistical outliers), I think that it makes the league more interesting for more people if there are no min GP requirements.
[Note that I am assuming that the min GP rules did not come about as a way to avoid tanking... as that would be entirely counter-productive. Obviously I do think that people should be rolling their best line-ups; I just think that we should leave that flexible enough for teams whose best line-ups aren't able to meet the minimums in question.]
More importantly, how did this rule even come about? This is something that I've raised numerous times before, but I don't think that rule changes like this should just be applied by the admin(s) without having first been discussed and voted on.

News to me too. I thought we had to ensure that we had actual NHL'ers playing but wasn't aware of a GP rule.

Currently, the only min/max rule I'm aware of is regarding goalie starts in Section A of the Rules: dirt30.proboards.com/post/1/threadI assume this is the rule we're referring to? I interpreted this as at least 1 goalie game (start/back-up) per period. I have only been here for a season but I thought this rule was always in place. Someone pointed it out to me last year that the Min Goalie games rule wasn't being followed (and referenced this section) so I updated the Fantrax settings last season and carried it into this season. If this rule was never enforced historically and if people prefer, I can change it back. I just updated it because it was following a rule we already had in place. However, you bring a good point. I didn't consider that perhaps the Min Goalie Start rule was never historically enforced when I updated the Fantrax Settings. I'll make sure I post any changes to the Fantrax settings in the future. Sorry if this caused confusion, I never intended to change any rules without discussion, I thought I was just enforcing the rules we have in place.

I'm referring to the min/max rules that are being enforced on the Fantrax page. Go to your team page then click the min/max tab under the grey banner that has the league name.

It says no max, no min for all the skater spots. Only minimum is for goalies to avoid the loophole of getting points by not having a goalie.
