Hi all!
Just wanted to announce the opening of free agency.
Free Agency will follow the same rules as prior year. Free Agency officially opens at 1 PM ET on Saturday August 8th. Any post prior to 1 PM is invalid.
Signings are made on a first come basis and you are allowed a maximum of 1 successful signing per day and a maximum of 2 per week/8 per month. A new day starts at midnight, therefore should you sign someone successfully on the 8th, you may submit you second signing at or after 12:00 AM EST on the 9th. Weeks also run from Sunday through Saturday.
A successful signing occurs when you are the first to sign an eligible player on Pro-Boards during a signing period and you are within the signing requirement perimeters. Also waiver claims will not be processed until the season starts. Waiver claims will be processed by the Jets GM and are initially based on last year's final standings for the first three weeks of the season.
You are also reminded that the farm size will revert back to 25 on the Sunday prior to season start. To be eligible for the farm, a skater may not exceed 110 career NHL games played and a net-minder may not exceed 55 career NHL games played. The only exceptions to this under current rules are if they are signed to other leagues or are actually in the AHL
Please make all efforts to be below the cap, above the floor and within roster requirements before the season starts!
Thanks all! Let me know if you have any questions

There was a bit of confusion on the opening of free agency last year. Just to remind everyone of the rules:
So any player who is signed their initial contracts AFTER JULY 6, 2015 (last day of the DTDL draft) must go through waivers. To help ease the process, if you are signing someone who was never drafted AND signed their initial NHL contracts during this offseason, please include a link on the contract details and when the contract was signed.

Hey Ken,
Given that our draft rules prevent an undrafted prospect from being selected if they sign their initial contract after the beginning of our league's draft, I think that the cutoff date for the waivers should similarly be the first day of the DTDL draft (instead of the last). Make sense?

If the new week starts on a Sunday then each of NYI, Nashville and St. Louis seem to have signed three guys already, no?

CHEATERS take away their first round pick in each of the next three draft years.
