Free Agency will follow the same rules as last year. Free Agency officially opens at 1 PM ET on Saturday August 9th. Any post prior to 1 PM is invalid.
Signings are made on a first come basis and you are allowed a maximum of 1
successful signing per day and a maximum of 2 per week/8 per month. A new day
starts at midnight, therefore should you sign someone successfully on the 9th,
you may submit you second signing at or after 12:00 AM on the 10th. Weeks also
run from Sunday through Saturday.
A successful signing occurs when you are the first to sign an eligible player on Pro-Boards during a signing period and you are within the signing requirement perimeters.
Also waiver claims will not be processed until the season starts. Waiver claims will be processed by the Jets GM and are initially based on last year's final standings for the first three weeks of the season.
You are also reminded that the farm size will revert back to 25 on the Sunday prior to season start. To be eligible for the farm, a skater may not exceed 110 career NHL games played and a net-minder may not exceed 55 career NHL games played. The only exceptions to this under current rules are if they are signed to other leagues or are actually in the AHL (Note: I actually would like to look at removing this exception starting at the 15/16 season because I believe it contributed to the difficulties Zaph experienced monitoring team line changes)
Please make all efforts to be below the cap, above the floor and within roster requirements before the season starts some 79 days or so from now.
