This isn't really that serious. Mostly made to amuse you when you have some free time. Just pick whomever you want and you can assess them however you want. lol sometimes hockey can just be for fun.

hahaha. so serious. also the fantasy points thing that fantrax lists is far from perfect. I've noticed that these 'points' can be a bit misleading and I think most of the confusion stems from the FO% stat. They seem to be a much better tool for comparing d-men than forwards because they typically all have a FO% of zero. Now that I'm on the topic, what are peoples feelings on the FO% stat? I'm not really a fan and would prefer to see FOW. Just a thought for next time we're kicking ideas around

Both have advantages and disadvantages. For example Letang's value is huge because he has 100% FO%. But I don't like FOW either because it's basically whatever guy takes the most.
I think for H2H FO% works well because it's based on a smaller sample. Ex: a guy who takes one face-off and wins is only going to help with face-offs one week not all year. FO% sucks for roto.

With that said i prefer % because it is more about how good the centers are at faceoffs as opposed to just getting 1000 draws. I feel like making it FOW instead of FO% would balloon centers values. It doensn't reflect the best faceoff men in the league (granted guys like toews are at the top of either lists) which i think for the one stat is kind of what it is about.
I know i personally drafted Defensemen earlier because it was FO% not FOW. If it was FOW i would have grabbed more Centers earlier.
just so we all know, a guy like letang having 100% FO isnt that big for our teams. for the fantasy points it might be, but in relation to our teams it wont affect the FO% stat that is being compared to each other.
I assume the way our team FO% is calculated is (team FOW/ team FOT) *100 as opposed to total team FO% / eligable players.
so to see an example lets say schroeder gets an alright 66% of his FO's at 66/99, Letang gets 100% at 1 out of 1. your teams average will be 67% (67/100) as opposed to 83% ((100+66) / 2). so Letang's average doesnt help your team much.
but i agree that the fantrax points is messed up with FO% as i am guessing it assigns a value to the %.

On Faceoff stats - I think if you take FOW, you also have to take FOL as another category. This way, you avoid the overblown 100% from a single Faceoff taken and make the guy who wins 8, but loses just 2 more valuable than the 10 FOW guy with 10 FOL.
Goalies: Price, Thomas Defense: Yandle, Letang, Byfuglien, Visnovsky Left Wing: D. Sedin, Ovechkin, Lucic Center: Stamkos, Toews, Kesler Right Wing: St. Louis, Perry, Selanne

I agree FOW/FOL is the best combo but it also assigns two categories to it which then throws off the balance.
