Despite the fact that there is not an all-star game and the NHL all-star break has long since passed, at the end of the season annually we will vote for the following thorough a reply:
1) 2 goalies 2) 4 defenders 3) 3 RWs 4) 3 Centers 5) 3 LWs
Top 3 Rookies
After most of you have replied we will post the Tally and the Overall DTDL All-star team as well as winners for each position.

I'm going to keep this simple and rank by fantasy points:
1. Thomas, Lundqvist 2. Letang, Chara, Weber, Burns 3. Perry, Giroux, Backes 4. Kesler, M. Richards, Toews 5. Ovechkin, Dubinsky, Sharp
Forgot about rookies. Again, simply by fantasy points:
Crawford, Couture, Reimer

Unless were going personal preference or something.

Am I missing something??? League's leading scorer and Hart trophy candidate Daniel Sedin not in the running for top LWer??? Yes, you're missing his 0 SHP, 11 hits, 12 blocks and 18.8 FO%... not to mention the fact that he costs more cap room than Dubinsky and Sharp.

Did not know that cap hit prevents one from being on an all star team??? FOW....he's a winger for god's sakes?

Sedin may be lacking it hits/bs and shp but I'll take his domination of G, A, +/-, PPP, etc. etc. no problem

I'm not sure that I really understand the point of this thread. Maybe there should be some more clarification? Isn't it clear-cut that the all-star team would be the top fantasy performers? If you're trying to peg real life all-stars then that's another matter entirely. If it's for the DTDL though, it's not like we can assess leadership, character, etc. We win and lose on stats, plain and simple.
And Kanuck, Sedin might be a winger but his FO% still counts just as much as a centre's. I brought up the cap issue since one way to evaluate players (or to choose between those who are very close) is to take the fantasy points/$ spent. Classic HPG-type analysis. You can go shell out 6+ for Sedin to dominate a few categories or you can pay 1.85 for Dubinsky to contribute across the board (or at least could have... he's sure to get a nice raise in the summer). Admittedly though, I didn't do this analysis. I just pulled the top fantasy points by position.
