Hi,
Being relatively new to the league, I was wondering if I could get some tips or advice on what kind of player is valuable in the D30. Looking at the player rankings, this league seems quite different than my other leagues. Since the playoffs are actually the playoffs I would imagine having players from good teams is important.
Thanks so much!

All I do is try to get better at each position. Remembering to keep the scoring stats and salary cap in mind. Also have good cheap depth players and good prospects because they help with the cap. You also need a good goalie and a cheap decent backup.
Saying trade, in our trade I gave you my best centre, my best RW and a highly rated defense prospect. So it doesn't always work that way for me.
I tend to like guys that play on the edge like Marchant.
I may trade King Hendrick if your interested.
Rich Colorado.

What the last couple of years has shown is that the way to win in this league is relatively easy: take a good long look at ANA and TB rosters... then replicate. That's it. ;-)

One thing to keep in mind, I think most GMs in this league focus on winning the regular season and don't concern themselves too much with the play-offs. Focusing on the former can often help you with the latter but valuation takes time to figure out and usually takes making a few trades that you regret to realize what you want to focus on.
multi-category players would be a good place to start.
