Just curious how is Havlat eligible for the minors? He's on a PTO at the moment with the Blues and he has played more than 110 games in the NHL and hasn't been assigned to a minors.

a PTO isn't an NHL contract. he's not getting paid a salary.

What does the PTO have to do with anything? He doesn't meet the definition of prospect (neither by virtue of GP nor by playing in another professional league) so he should be on the main roster. If anything, his situation most closely resembles the specific example in the rules of a retired player trying to come back.

I have to agree with Sami here unless there's some rule were not understanding. But from what I see, he should not be minor eligible.
