Side note: Anaheim hasn't logged in since the day he registered for the league (April something). Should we even wait for him or should we just mark that team vacant? IMO people are going to sign up and then not participate ever again, it happens with all online games, and we should just recognize it when it happens and move on to replace them. I think it happened in this case. We're delaying the inevitable by emailing them, asking them to participate. (The NYR situation is different, as he's been around a while, worth the email check-in by Sami) You know where I stand on this matter

Chuck did respond to me FWIW - he was stuck in court all day. Probably should have left a list though...

Attempts were made by myself and the GM who recommended the present Anaheim GM without success. Because no response was received and in light of the fact that no activity occurred except the initial post/last log in on Fantrax was May 7th, this team is considered Abandoned. We will go ahead and treat it similarly as Washington, which has no current GM and select the highest available NHL entry pick as soon as their turns come up.

Based on how I understand the rules, he's eligible. Similar to Fasth and Cervenka last year.

It's an unorthodox rule. I'm a bit surprised that we aren't out of the 1st round and it's being used, but should be interesting.

Yes Raanta signing is good. Had hoped he would have slipped to the second round.

Haha. I didn't think he'd make it to me at 45. People don't seem interested in trading down, so I picked him now. Fasth went 18 last year, great value for Pitt. Taking a chance Rannta turns out the same.

And we have hit a crawl...... Next season's draft starts the 3 round drafts. I plan to shorten the timelines somewhat. 1st round will remain 3 hours 2nd round will remain 2 hours 3 round will go from 2 hour picks to 1 hour picks. Hopefully that will encourage guys to check in better or leave a list. At least those who are waiting won't have such a long drag. Can't believe we used to wait Five Hours between picks. That just hurt me to watch.

eh, once the draft is over we just have to hurry up and wait for the NHL regular season anyways.
