next time make a vote option: I don't care and then they have no excuse for not voting.

FYI, just sent an e-mail reminder to each GM who had not voted.

If they do have an opinion, this is their chance to voice it. If it doesn't matter to them, that shouldn't affect whether the vote is being had at all.

In accordance with this poll:
- All CHL/College free agents will go through the normal one week waiver period. All claims must be submitted during that time period. Should multiple claims occur; the team seated in the bottom of the standings will win that claim. the winning claim will be executed by the Winnipeg GM, who has been monitoring waivers for me.
- Should there be no claim submitted for a player, he WILL NOT be eligible to be signed as a free agent after the one week period. The earliest opportunity to acquire that player will be through the DTDL Entry draft.
- Should he fail to be drafted in the DTDL draft, then the next opportunity to acquire him will occur when free agency re-opens in August.
- These guidelines will immediately be incorporated into the DTDL rules.

Just so that we're all on the same page: Can you define "CHL/College free agents"? When does the one week waiver period start? How does one make a claim?

CHL/College free agents are those players who sign a NHL contract after the completion of their current season and who's contract normally but not exclusively starts the following season. That signing period for the NHL clubs starts on March 1st. Waiver period starts the day the individual's signing is announced. For example: Alderson who signed this morning (March 1st) must be claimed by midnight on March 7th otherwise he will fall next to our entry draft. Claims are done on the waiver thread and not the free agent signing thread. Good questions, Sami, but your such a legalist. JK lol

- Should he fail to be drafted in the DTDL draft, then the next opportunity to acquire him will occur when free agency re-opens in August. I'm about to head into the dreaded legalist territory ;D---- If the above scenario occurs, these players will be free agents(as opposed to still subject to waivers) when free agency opens, right? and what about undrafted CHL players who are signed to an NHL contract before March 1st, such as Michael Sgarbossa or JP Anderson who were signed during NHL preseason in September. link to news item on Sgarbossa signing showing signing date....http://www.mlive.com/spirit/index.ssf/2010/09/saginaw_spirit_forward_michael.html

Players like Sgarbossa, who have never been drafted by the NHL, would indeed fall under the spirt of the rule and would be required to go through waivers.
